Sinking in Sin

Sin is powerful it is ever present and looking for the opportunity  to overcome you!  When you let your guard down let your mind wonder on to things of this world things of the flesh and not looking on to God you will fall!  Much like Peter when he took his eyes off Christ and begun to  sink in the sea until he cried out "Lord save me!". We too sink in to sin when we are not focused on Him!  It doesn't take much for us to fall if we are not focused on Christ for the Devil, his demons, our flesh are looking for an opportunity to overcome us with our own desires.  That is why we must put on the whole armor of God! Being vigilant for our  adversary the devil roams around like lion seeking whom he may devour. We must learn to master the flesh making it submissive to the will of God! We must learn to kill our flesh and it's desires so that we will be walking in the Spirit and not in flesh!  Way to often we turn to the desires of the flesh and the eyes seeking things of this world seeking the things that will bring only death! When the One who brings life we shun and turn away!  What are we to do, we who follow the flesh and its desires?  Repent and turn back to God to the One who saved your soul from death and not to walk in the ways you once walked!  It is true when it is written a dog returns to its own vomit!   We to return to the sin that placed Christ on the Cross!   We ungrateful people why do we  try to crucify Christ again by returning to our sin?   Have we not learned that we are crucified with Christ! And that it is no longer us that live but Christ that lives within us?  Oh the wretched people we are! We who take the grace of God for granted by thinking we can live our lives as we please with no consequences for our actions. We are fools to think such a thing!  We are not our own we are bought with a price! We are called to be holy because He is holy!  We are to live a life that honors Him a life that others see and they to will glorify   God!  So how are we to do this? Well the Bible says we must walk in the Spirit we must show the fruit of the Spirit in all that we do! We must pray with out ceasing giving God glory and praise in all that we do! We must always be mediating on His Word using it as a sword to fight of the things of the flesh and the world!  Why to often we depend on our own abilities to overcome sin with out the help of the Spirit that dwells within us!  Then we wonder how did we fall again? Have we forgotten that He who dwells with in us is greater then he who dwells in the world? Have we forgotten that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us?  Have we forgotten that we are more than conquers through Christ Jesus?  When we fill our minds with things of this world the things of the flesh we are inviting sin into our lives and once we put thought to it and an action to it it is manifested to a willful sin an iniquity! We are not to give the devil a foothold for if we do he will for sure come in!  We need to rid our lives of all things that don't honor God!  For if we don't it is not if we fall but when!
